This place and its owner Mark saved me in a bind. I was doing a long haul all by my lonesome from Portland to Los Angeles and ended up blowing a tire around 7 PM headed southbound on the I-5. After getting a spare on, I drove to the closest hotel (The Ryde) which ended up being completely closed, although the internet said they were open 24/7. After speaking with more locals, I ended up hearing "there is one more place you can try", and it was the Delta Queen. When I first called the Delta Queen, I got an AI receptionist on the other end and basically was not able to ask any questions or complete booking a room, but just a few minutes after that call ended, the owner Mark called me back and told me he would get me taken care of. So making my way another 15 minutes deeper into the middle of nowhere from the freeway, Mark so saw to it that I got a room booked, helped me load all the music gear I had with me inside, and made sure to the door lock code system was functioning properly. Now, this isn't your run-of-the-mill hotel and Isleton isn't your run-of-the-mill town. There are NOT a lot of people around, and I'm pretty sure I was the only guest at the entire hotel that night! But Mark made a serious effort to make sure I was taken care of - and once I got set up inside, I felt safe, secure, cozy, and enjoyed my odd little night in a the small, mysterious river-side town. Though still pretty vacant, Isleton had a cute little vibe in the morning, and then I made my way to Rio Vista just west to get a new tire in the morning, which was another really cute little area. On top of it all, Mark brought me down to hotel's basement bar for a little nightcap before we went our separate ways, which I guess has karaoke nights Weds-Sun. Had a beer and a shot and chatted with him for a good hour or so - I rather enjoyed the man's energy and appreciated him saving my ass for the night! Perhaps he could do the same for you some day... Well so much for the history of the hotel del Rio and fabulous prime rib night! All gone..menu looks like stuff you get from a professional baseball park!

This place is amazing. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Everyone treated me like family. JP was exceptional. He was accommodating professional and personable. He made sure everyone was well taken care of. Food was excellent, service was phenomenal . I highly recommend this very unique hidden gem. Service: 5
