Dear fellow bread lovers, I feel compelled to share my experience at the bakery where I have been a loyal customer for years. Sadly, I have to say that my recent visits to Dikke Mik Brabantplein were far from satisfactory. It is with great sadness that I see how a place once known for its delicious bread and friendly service has now descended into a state of disappointment and frustration. Let's start with the staff. Previously, I was greeted by familiar faces, people who not only knew their trade, but also shared a smile and a kind word. However, lately the staff has been completely revamped and the change is noticeable. The new employees seem to have no passion for what they do, they are grumpy, sullen and unwilling to share even a simple smile. This lack of customer service contributes greatly to the overall negative experience. But it's not just the faces behind the counter that disappoint me, the quality of the bread itself has also deteriorated. Previously, I could count on freshly baked bread that was delicious in taste and texture. Now it seems as if the baker is looking to cut costs. The bread lacks that characteristic taste and lightness that I loved so much. Plus, it seems like the oven turns off early, limiting the ability to get hot treats. And we haven't even talked about the prices yet. I understand that inflation plays a role, but the recent price increases at Dikke Mik are downright scandalous. Take for example the sausage rolls that I always enjoyed. Previously they were reasonably priced, but now an extra 20 cents has suddenly been added to the price, making them an exorbitant €2.20 each. This is an unacceptable increase for a product that no longer even offers the same quality as before. And to top it all off, I discovered they even sell frozen sausage rolls! This is an unacceptable practice for a bakery that claimed to sell fresh products. As a loyal customer, I feel disappointed and let down by Dikke Mik. It seems that profit maximization takes precedence over customer satisfaction, and that is a development that I regret. I hope that this message serves not only as an expression of my displeasure, but also as a wake-up call for Dikke Mik Bakkerij. It's time to return to the core values ​​of quality, service and customer satisfaction, before even more loyal customers like me are forced to take their livelihood elsewhere.
