Food is very hit or miss. The Katsu sometimes will almost be undercooked, or maybe they used too much batter? I’m not sure but it’s very mushy and just gross. Sometimes the food is great, other times it’s bordering on inedible. Not to mention the rice, more often than not, is not fresh and tastes like it’s sat outside for a couple of hours

Worst bibimbap I’ve ever had. Cheap lettuce is the main vegetable with some slivers of carrots, sprouts, onions. Never getting food here again.

District H South Lake Union is a great “city” style grocery store, perfect for grabbing everything you need without leaving downtown Seattle. The store is a bit tighter in the aisles compared to the larger H-Mart locations in Redmond or Ballard, but the layout works well given the space. It’s essentially a slimmed-down version of the bigger stores, and they still manage to have a solid selection of products — fresh produce, meats, seafood, pantry staples, and a decent range of Korean and Asian specialty items. One of my favorite perks here is the hot food section. If you shop after 5pm, you can get 20% off, which makes it a great option for a quick and affordable dinner. The quality is consistently good, and it’s always tempting to grab a few things even if I wasn’t planning to. The staff on the floor are a bit limited, so sometimes you have to hunt someone down for assistance, but the checkout staff are friendly and efficient. Overall, this H-Mart location is convenient, well-stocked for a city store, and perfect for downtown shoppers who want access to Asian groceries without making the trek out to the larger suburban locations. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!
