Great branch bakery! I have lived in the neighborhood for a long time and have been a customer there for over 20 years. Some reviews here criticize that not every “good morning” is answered, or that the salespeople talk to each other instead of caring. Now with a little empathy you realize that the job behind the counter and in front of the oven is not that easy: you have to be served in the morning, when the rolls have not yet been baked and filled. Pulling coffee while bread rolls are smeared with special requests, the colleague is absent sick and calls the central office. And sometimes new colleagues are trained, but not everything works out. I've known a few saleswomen for years now, which means there is little fluctuation for a bakery, which in turn means that a lot of things are right here. The climate there is what I would like in a bakery in the Ruhr area. Awake, open, friendly and direct - always ready for a saying or sharing our favorite running gags. I really like shopping there. Extra requests are no problem as long as the ingredients are available. The quality is pretty consistently good. (Baking errors such as large holes in the rolls and bread are very rare, which indicates great care in the process). The Pain Parisienne, a rustic, large, wide baguette, is the tastiest bread of this type in the Ruhr area that I know of. The various grain rolls are above average, delicious, just the way I like it, with a cracking crust. The Basel bread is a very dark wheat bread with a very loose interior that I have never seen anywhere else. Yummy. A little patience when it's busy and friendliness helps ensure that everyone there has a good time. I love my Ruhr area and I like this bakery! Only knows 3 slice thicknesses for bread...(9,10,11)...- means "danger of being muzzled with school bread! The waitress seemed unmotivated because she had to tell her about the bread! Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
