The atmosphere was really lovely. The food was very good. The staff were friendly. Removed 1 star due to lack of care with an allergy. Please be more aware. We informed the wait staff of my young sons egg allergy and enquired if the cheeseburger kids meal was egg free due to my son having anaphylaxis. Wait staff said he thought it was fine but my face must have said it all because he said he would double check He came bame back and it was an unsafe choice due to egg in the patty, but he could have the kids fish and chips. He was then served an adult meal of fish and chips with a side of egg aioli mayo My son is young so thankful he was close to me and didn't just tuck in, and I was able to swipe it. Please be more careful. Had he eaten that, our family dinner would have been ruined with an epipen and an ambulance trip. The food was excellent. We had pork belly, fish and chips, steak Dianne, cheeseburger, chicken parmi's, all delicious. The dessert menu was also 5

I had a fantastic experience at Doctor Syntax Hotel - Sandy Bay. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a beautiful fireplace creating the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was excellent, and the highlight was definitely the fresh Tasmanian scallops—some of the best I've had. Great service, delicious food, and a cozy ambience make this a place I'll happily return to. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality dining in Hobart Service: 5

Being local, we only use it for meals They are well presented and affordable. It can get noisy with jovial crowds, but there is a covered outdoors seating area. Big car park, but it can fill at meal times.
