Part of me doesn't even want to write a review for Domino's pizza because ... it's like the McDonalds of pizza world. You know what you are likely going to get when you are hitting up Domino's at 1 a.m. However, as a former business traveler who used to arrive in cities after midnight on the red eye, after everything was closed, I know that the quality of franchise restaurants can vary. Sometimes it's late, you are drunk ... you are high ... you are jetlagged ... or a combination of all three. You just want someone to bring you some sort of salty, fatty, bad for you food that you'd never consider eating at your own house. You might be on business ... you might be on vacation ... or you might just be a big fat slob who thinks ordering veggies on a pizza is healthy, so it's okay. Whatever your purpose for ordering Domino's ... we've all been there. No judgement ... however you got here, embrace it. Get the garlic butter dipping sauce and go to town. The biggest offense out of any Domino's seems to be that they are skimpy with cheese/toppings ... and they SKAAA-REW you over if you are a business traveler. (Domino's always says that coupons are valid for residential delivery only, not hotels.) Even when you get one of their specials ... it seems like you end up seeing a 3 Medium pizzas for $5 each deal and then after all the add-ons and delivery fees, you end up paying what you would have if you went and got a burger, fries and 3 beers at a TGIFriday's. We ordered their deal where they let you 'pick any 3' things off a special menu for $6. Kind of like a game show where all the prizes are shitty pizza or dried out wings. We got 2 pizzas with 2 toppings and an order of wings. At the last minute, we decided to get extra cheese because the last time we got Domino's, it came looking like a cracker brushed with ketchup with barely any cheese to be found. If you are as bad at math as I am ... 3 times $6 equals $18. After delivery fees, tip, an extra topping and little cups of dipping sauce, we were looking at around $35. Yikes. The little garlic butter dipping sauces are liquid gold. I am quite sure some sort of butter mixed with crack cocaine substance is in those cups because it's so damn good. If you order a Domino's pizza and don't get the garlic butter dipping sauce, you are doing everything in your life wrong. Trust me. These will change your life. Sure, Domino's ripped them off from Papa John's but they should be standard at all pizza places in the way little cups of hot mustard, black packets of soy sauce and a giant tub of 'duck sauce' is automatically placed in every bag at your local Chinese food restaurant. Best 75 cents you'll spend. The cheese on the pizza was good ... very good move to upgrade to extra cheese. At least in everyone's mind but my cardiologist. The crust was fine ... pizza was cooked perfect ... and that signature Domino's pizza sauce is spot on. While this sauce would be an offense to Italy should it be included at any fine Italian dining spot ... it will instantly bring back memories of your college days. The only thing closer to the 'taste of college' than the salty marinara sauce on a Domino's pizza would be the taste combination of cigarettes and Jagermeister as you french kissed a sorority girl (or guy) at the local bar near campus at 1:30 a.m. Which is, ironically enough, about the same time most people eat Domino's pizza. The wings were terrible. I don't know what kind of tiny Frankenchicken these things came from but they are basically mutant wings that in no way resemble wings of any sort from any other location. My shame for eating them after thinking of the poor chickens which grew these weird freakish wings was almost as great as polishing off an entire pizza and stealing a slice or two of the girl's from the fridge an hour later. Skip the wings ... or basically anything else on the menu but pizza. I see someone else reviewed 1 star after saying their salad sucked. If you are ordering a salad from a Domino's pizza to begin with, you need to seriously reevaluate all the choices in your life that brought you to this point. In summary ... I don't always eat shitty pizza but when I do, it's likely going to be Domino's. This Domino's isn't as bad as all the reviews say ... even sober I would (probably) say this. If you are over the age of 20 and have any other choice but to order Domino's pizza ... make that choice and go elsewhere. But when you are in a pinch and you need a little snack or meal and everything is closed ... to quote Jack Nicholson in 'A Few Good Men' ... "Be glad Domino's is on that wall." To close, here is a one word review of my experience here ... SODIUM!
