**Don't Judge This Book By Its Cover** Downunder leans into its dive bar identity — dark, moody, and unpretentious — but don't let the atmosphere fool you. The food here is the real deal. I ordered the ribeye and it came out cooked perfectly, seasoned extremely well. The real hidden gem? Swap your standard sides for the Brussels sprouts. Trust me, just do it. And here's the kicker — this is a **$23 steak with two sides** that actually delivers. When's the last time you can say that? Our server Stacy was wonderful — personable, attentive, and she makes an espresso martini that deserves its own review. Smooth, balanced, and dangerously easy to drink. Downunder is already on my list of favorites and will be a go-to every time I'm back in Tupelo. If you've been sleeping on this place, wake up. The owner snatched microphone from my friend while singing karaoke and walked out. This was extremely rude and made us feel uncomfortable. Not welcoming to visitors. We will NEVER come back. Reply to the comment below: The music was playing LOUDLY. He obviously did not hear him. Simply tapping him on the shoulder and letting him know what was going on would’ve been more APPROPRIATE. Instead of reaching over people to take a microphone that was just given to him by another employee. It’s a right and wrong to do anything. I understand the situation now still could’ve been handled differently. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The gentleman who owned the microphone asked for it twice. And we don’t do karaoke. I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable, but the gentleman doing SINGO was leaving and he wanted his microphone. He politely asked for it twice.
