We'd been wanting to try this place for quite some time (since it opened), however, it seems to always be very busy on weekends. Definitely make a reservation, as our friends were turned away last weekend, but managed to secure a table for the following weekend! Pros: tacos were delicious and well taken care of as far as volume of fillings/toppings, alcohol in the margaritas was not underpoured, water was frequently topped up by wait staff, quesadilla was wonderful and spicey! Cons: small menu, rather expensive for a newly opened Bristol restaurant (especially drinks), there were little flies/nats down in the cellar/basement area we were seated

Downtown Tacqueria is a newer, Mexican-style venue in downtown Bristol. Walking into the restaurant reminds you of a discoteca mixed with a stylish bar. The back of the restaurant has an intimate, low-ceiling area that vibrates with club music. However, you can still have a conversation. The staff are friendly and check on you often. A quick refill of water is needed for the spicy guacamole.The tacos, though overpriced at 5 pounds a piece, are bursting with flavor and full of meat or veggies. I would rank the beef, cod, and chicken in that order. The beef had delicious spices and sauce.If you purchase three of one kind of taco, you get the 4th one free - so going in a group is encouraged (as are reservations). If you want to try something else, the quesadillas stole the show with three types of cheeses and a spicy kick to them. They have a variety of margaritas accompanied by a strong pour of tequila and other liquor - a perfect accompaniment to your tacos. Alternatively, you can enjoy a classic Corona and lime, or two! Be sure to stop by any time after 4!
