Went in for dinner but was still little early got lunch we both had the prime rib french dip was tasty seemed a little skimpy on the meat for the price and the powder was way over cooked was more a forage than a soup all the vegetables had lost there structure and the chips I ordered was bland as could be no seasoning at all Service: 2

Giving this a 5 Star - not because it is a high end place but because it the building is over 100 years old, the town super small and quaint and the overall cleanliness, hospitality and vibes we perfect for such a small town tucked away in southeaster Idaho! Such a funny beginning to our experience at the Drift Inn. I saw the beautiful glowing sign mounted to the First National Bank. I opened the door below and only saw a stair case in front of me and no front desk. So I called and asked where it was and she kindly said "just come into the bar". So we proceeded to go into the bar just behind the staircase and she said "Hi checking in?" It was so comical to us as we have never experienced a town of just 5.000 and this is just how it rolls there. So we get an actual key and proceed up the creaking original wood stairs, over 100 years old, from the bank (that it used to be) and made our way to our door. What a pleasant surprise. It immediately felt like Grandma's cozy home, warm, inviting and clean. Such a homey feeling in the Kenegy Suite. Bed was super comfy, blackout curtains and a huge bathroom with all the necessities. I enjoy my room super cool so I do wish the a/c went down much lower but that's just a me thing lol. There was even a separate sitting area down the hall from our room that had a sofa, chairs, games to play and a tv. The coffee bar and kitchen just outside our room was a nice added feature though we didn't end up utilizing it. We decided to eat at the bar below which was also the front desk and we were pleasantly surprised. Ordered the Country fried steak and the homestyle meatloaf both with Idaho mashed potatoes and a side salad and soup. We decided to share our meals to get a taste of it all. The meatloaf was the best I'd ever had and was difficult for me to want to share it. Having Idaho mashed potatoes in actual Idaho felt really special and somehow tasted even better! The country friend steak I was not impressed with. The sauce was watery and not much flavor and the steak was not crispy like I prefer. The staff was nice and accommodating meeting our needs with promptness. Overall I loved the feel of the place and the old vibes it gave off that was filled with all the warm comforts of home. The view outside our room was of the "square" which is basically the center of town and where lots of holiday events take place I was told. Hope to go back and stay again. Thank you Drift Inn!
