You Better Wake Up And Smell The Coffee.... I have been going to your Du Kum Inn since I was 5 years old! Tonight my family came in to eat there. They sat there for an hour and didn't receive any service. They sat and watched as people that had come in later than them got their drinks and food. Now if this was a one-time deal, I wouldn't write this, but you are in for a big wake up call. Because what I am seeing from my friends and family about your business is not good. 1) You upped your prices way too high! 2) You have wait staff that need to pay more attention to everyone at their stations! I was a waitress for 6 years for places bigger than yours. If I didn't greet my customers and have their drinks (if they were ready to order them) within 5 minutes, I was seriously in trouble. But you know what, I got good tips and had repeat customers because I worked my fanny off on behalf of the company I was working for. Not just for the tip, but because that is how I would like to be treated when I went out to eat. Part of being a good company is treating your customers like they were your family. Second is to serve them in a timely and friendly manner. Treat them how you would like to be treated if you went out to eat! If you don't address these two major problems you will see firsthand what can happen. You are in a small city that outlying towns come to eat at as well. So you are not only upsetting customers in Sullivan, but in Bourbon, Stanton, Leasburg, etc.! You really want to find out how your business is doing open up my conversation! Lower your prices a little bit (unless you forgot we are in a major recession) and second either retrain or fire staff that won't treat your customers as they should be treated! For people to sit in your restaurant for an hour and get no attention is flat-out ridiculous! It shows that you have gotten so big-headed that you have forgotten it us small-town people that brought you as far as you are. When I see at least 17 comments on my family's experience tonight, all negative, it shows you have let your brain forget what your heart taught you when you were the little restaurant where everyone in town wanted to go to eat. You've gone "Big City" and I don't mean the baseball player and that isn't a compliment. You better get that "Small Town, Treat You Like Family" mentality back or you will see your doors shut down. Before you dismiss me, think how long I have been going to your business...I am 52 years old now, so for 47 years I have been going to the little restaurant and then the big one. You can have a Big Business and still have the Small Town atmosphere! Wake up, you've slept through too much! Take your wait staff back to Old School; where the customers come first and are always right.
