Durrat China has been an icon for Chinese food for as long as I can remember. It’s one of those places that carries memories, and over the years I’ve tried a big part of their menu but there are a few dishes we always come back to. The garlic fried rice and hot & sour soup are classics and never disappoint. For appetizers, the shrimp balls are a must. When it comes to mains, the beef Sichuan and chicken with chili and green pepper (or the dried chili version) are always solid choices. For drinks, I used to love their Saudi champagne loaded with fruits. Overall, despite a few small changes over the years, this place remains on my top 10 best Chinese restaurants in Saudi Arabia timeless, reliable, and full of flavor. Visited Durrat Chicken recently and found the experience average overall. The momos were decent, nothing special, and the fried rice was quite ordinary. The hot and sour sesame chicken had a good sauce, but the chicken itself was quite dry, which took away from the dish. Prices are reasonable, but considering the food quality, it didn’t really feel worth it. It’s okay for a quick bite if you’re nearby, but not a place I’d go out of my way to visit.
