I visited this restaurant on three separate occasions and tried a variety of dishes. The seafood boil was satisfactory, although it lacked depth of flavour and I would rate it 6/10. The egusi soup was unfortunately quite runny and did not have the rich flavour or vegetable balance typically associated with this dish. In contrast, the eforiro was well prepared, flavourful, and enjoyable, which I would rate 8/10. In terms of value, the portion sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable, which is a positive aspect of the overall dining experience. However, there are some operational improvements that would significantly enhance the customer experience. When dining in, the service felt somewhat disorganised. Tables were not consistently prepared for guests on arrival, with items such as serviettes and cutlery not readily set out. I also observed a food hygiene concern relating to handwashing practices. Customers were given a bowl of water to wash their hands, which can pose a risk of cross-contamination. Good hygiene practice recommends pouring clean water over customers’ hands rather than using a shared bowl, as bacteria can remain in standing water and be transferred between users. For reference, general food hygiene guidance on handwashing and cross-contamination can be found here on government website type handwashing. Despite explaining this concern at the time, staff appeared unfamiliar with the issue, which suggests that additional hygiene and customer service training may be beneficial. Overall, while the restaurant offers fair pricing and good portion sizes, improvements in staff training, service organisation, and hygiene practices would help elevate the overall dining experience.
