1 STAR IS TOO MUCH FOR THIS "RESTAURANT" A group of 20 seniors was registered for ESSEN in May 2023. The visit to this restaurant was part of an excursion. You can choose between three meals beforehand: either salmon with spinach, chicken breast with spaetzle or schnitzel. When we arrived the tables were put together but carelessly set and there were crumbs on the tables. We hardly sat down when the drinks were taken and suddenly the food was there. A very rushed atmosphere. The sight of my plate (chicken breast with spaetzle and mushroom sauce) left me speechless. The meat was almost dark brown (I've never seen that before), as expected it was totally dry and hard. The spaetzle like rubber. And very small portions. The sauce was hardly available and what was left was way too salty. The salmon plate at my table neighbors didn't look any better. The juice had run out completely from the salmon and was therefore dry. Everything was obviously prepared hours in advance and parked under the heat lamp. Because of this, everything was dry, color changed and the sauce evaporated. It must be said that we were not too late. Because you might be a bit ashamed, you served a small bowl of ice-cold fruit salad at home. The pears and apples were not ripe and therefore totally hard. You shouldn't serve that to seniors, it's hard to eat. There is cake and ice cream on the menu. I was there as an accompaniment and invited. I would have liked to confront the "chef and manager", but I didn't want to put the person who invited everyone in an awkward position. I would have refused to pay even a cent. As I was leaving, I saw the plates of other guests, it all looked very different. I don't know if it tasted good, but it looked appetizing. No comparison with these puny, dried up, oversalted and visually unappetizing plates. To sum up: That was by far THE WORST FOOD I've ever been served in a restaurant in Germany and I really mean that seriously!!! I've eaten far better in canteens. You do not do something like that!!! I wonder if you would have dared to do that with a group of younger people. That was mean,, SHAME ON YOU Restaurant el Puerto.!!! EDIT: I'm glad that Google refused to delete this review!
