Had several great evenings at Elia in Corfu Town. The staff were genuinely lovely and friendly, and it’s clearly a proper family-run place which gives it a really relaxed, welcoming feel. The owner was the absolute highlight. Proper hilarious, full of character, and the kind of person who turns a normal dinner into a full experience whether you planned on it or not. We spent most of the evenings laughing, and he genuinely made the whole place feel more special. One of the family also took the time to show us their kumquat tree out the front and explain the seasons and how it all grows, which was a really nice personal touch you don’t usually get. There’s also often a family dog around chilling outside, very well behaved but always ready and expecting belly rubs. We also have to mention the orange pie we ended up eating so much of it while we were there. Even if you’re just passing through, get the orange pie. Seriously. We’re still thinking about it now, and we’d happily take the recipe home with us if they ever decide to share it. It’s one of those places you remember more for the people and the experience than just the food, and he’ll definitely be missed when we head home as he made our time in Corfu Town better. Food overall was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented without being overcomplicated. Would 100% come back next time we’re in Corfu Price per person: €50+
