**UPDATE PROVIDED UNDERNEATH FOLLOWING BUSINESS’ REPLY**I’ve heard good things about this place so had to visit whilst in the area. A fair few options marked as Gluten Free (GF) on the menu. I ordered the vegan breakfast marked GF, asked the front of house staff to tell the kitchen I was Coeliac, which they did right away. My food came out with toast on the plate (not advertised on the menu) that looked too good to be gluten free. I asked if it was gluten free, the waiter said “ohno” and took it back. Returned 30 seconds later with the exact same plate of food but toast removed! I said is that the exact same plate of food with toast removed? The waiter said “Yes, is that a problem?” I immediately stood up and left. Absolutely disgusting. Clearly no knowledge of Coeliac disease in the kitchen and even a few crumbs of gluten can leave me ill for days. No idea where the good reviews for gluten free food came from! Maybe it’s changed ownership? I was immediately offered a refund without asking for one, which was good, and was offered a free slice of cake as an apology. I said yes to the refund but no way was I touching their food! I’d steer clear of this place if you are Coeliac as the kitchen staff clearly aren’t trained correctly. Front of house understood but kitchen staff clearly didn’t. **Update following Eliane’s reply: So, as a coeliac customer, I ordered a dish on the menu listed as vegan and GLUTEN FREE. I also asked the lovely front of house staff (I never discredited your front of house) to inform the kitchen that the dish was for a coeliac diner. When the food arrived, I had to ask the waiter if it was gluten free as the meal shouldn’t have toast and wasn’t listed on the menu. If I hadn’t have done this, this could be an even more disappointing review. As soon as it was identified, the toast was removed and the exact same plate returned to me. Then, upon the second time, a fresh breakfast was not offered to me as there was confusion from the kitchen. I left after that as you clearly do not understand the severity of an autoimmune disease such as Coeliac disease. You never ‘immediately’ offered to remake the meal as the exact same plate minus toast was brought out. If the kitchen cannot get a meal correct after 3 tries, why would I feel safe enough to eat one of your cakes? The front of house staff were lovely, that reflects my 3 star service rating - I deducted 2 stars due to the waiter and kitchen staff’s clear lack of understanding. Even your reply to my review could have been handled better. You could’ve explained that your kitchen staff would receive extra training and to reassure your customers who have allergies.I don’t think you should discredit my experience as it was very real and serious. Instead, you have publicly proved that people who have negative experiences at your establishment are deemed wrong. I was fair and honest and you made it out like it was an attack. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1

We’re disappointed by this review. You are correct that toast was mistakenly added to a gluten-free breakfast despite the kitchen being informed that you were coeliac. This was a genuine human error and, as soon as it was identified, our chef apologised immediately and offered to prepare a fresh breakfast. Our front-of-house team also apologised, offered a full refund without hesitation, and even offered complimentary gluten-free cake as a further gesture of goodwill. The breakfast was not consumed and a full refund was processed. What is particularly disappointing is that, despite multiple apologies from both kitchen and front-of-house staff, an offer to remake the meal immediately, a complimentary gluten-free cake, and a full refund, you have chosen to leave a one-star review which omits all of those facts. We take coeliac disease and dietary requirements extremely seriously and serve gluten-free customers every day. While we regret the mistake, we do not believe this review fairly reflects either the way the situation was handled or the considerable efforts made by our team to put things right.
