Elyon African Kitchen “Where’s the meat” While out to pickup some Indian food, I discovered that my chosen destination is no longer opened. But a new (at least new to me) establishment was open in the same plaza - Elyon African Kitchen. I reviewed the menu board, advertising their dishes but not prices. I asked for the chicken but was told it was sold with rice. I ask for the price. I heard $8.95. The employee does have a very heavy accent. I placed two orders. When I received my order the bill was over $40. I questioned the math but was informed that each order was $18.95 NOT $8.95. I thought ok, perhaps this is the best chicken ever. Although the rice was tasty, what I could find of the chicken was extremely dry. Also, there is more meat in a child’s McNuggets meal than in a Elyon African Kitchen order. For every ounce of meat there is three times the amount of bones and gristle. Needless to say I won’t frequent the establishment again. The food was ok, but it’s very expensive rice with a smattering of over cooked bony chicken. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$40–50 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2
