Ok.. first time here.. got cowboy burger and fried catfish.. cowboy burger was delicious!!! The fries not so much.. they were chewy.. catfish was really good.. mashed taters were wayyy too thick.. was like a thick paste and the fried pickles were sweet pickles not dill.. and they do not have Diet Pepsi only Pepsi zero.. not the same. Overall I would go back for that burger for sure.. but nothing else. The environment was cute small and nice.. server was nice.. the guy that served drinks really doesn’t seem like he wants to be there or listen to anything if u have an issue lol but he looked young so it’s expected lol Meal type: Lunch Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Never coming back. Skip the chicken strips, looked like Walmarts pre-packaged version of fish strips. Meat was fake. Couldn’t even finish the meal I ended up getting a to go box for my dogs. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–40 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1

Tucked away along Highway 75 is a small café easily overlooked by the speed of our day-to-day lives. Ernie’s Cafe in Colbert, Oklahoma, however, seems to take life a little more purposefully. Not slower, just present. The kitchen is tucked away in favor of open seating, giving the space room to breathe. Outside, the business of the world barrels past, semi-trucks and cars rushing north and south. While inside, you sip your drink in relative stillness. It feels like sitting inside a quiet bubble where time pauses, if only for Ernie’s. The menu delivers exactly what you hope for from a café like this: all-day breakfast alongside hearty, classic comfort food. We settled on the jalapeño popper burger, and when I say we’d never encountered such an idea before, I mean it. The burger was incredible to say the least. The fried jalapenos delivered with a perfect crisp, not too hot but flavorful. The cream cheese popper accented the bacon and jalapenos perfectly. It was flavorful but not too hot to handle. The atmosphere is family-friendly and exactly what you’d expect from hardworking Oklahomans, unpretentious, welcoming and steady. People come in on their lunch breaks hungry and leave satisfied, not just from the food, but from the feeling of it all. Conversations linger. Coffee gets refilled. No one’s rushing you out the door. Places like this don’t try to chase trends. They outlast them. In a world that moves fast and forgets faster, Ernie’s stands firm, a reminder that good food, good company, and a little presence still go a long way. For me, it’s already a new favorite. For Colbert, it’s something even better: a place worth holding onto. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
