I’m a LONG time diner at Exchange Street Bistro and a former restaurant manager with YEARS of experience. Last Friday night was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The server was completely overwhelmed, ignored us and complained. Management had to be called over several times. Apparently they were “very busy tonight” as stated by our server each time he stopped by to explain delays. We had a 6:45 reservation, 2 people out of 5 showed up at 7:10. Sorry about that, we would have like a cocktail while we waited for them though. My drink arrived closer to 8pm. We all watched a frustrated couple hastily walk out at one point. I’m not sure what the problem is there. I didn’t see a bus person or expediter maybe they called out sick or were on the other side of the restaurant all night. Just getting a glass of water was difficult. I’d really like to speak to a manager/owner because it’s not the first time I’ve had a horrible customer service experience and I’m finally speaking up. The drink comps were nice, thank you, but I’d rather have standard table service with a server who takes your order, tells you the specials and asks if you’d like coffee or dessert. Aren’t you supposed to upsell or at least try? It's just not a good night when you have to call a manager to the table 3 times and place orders through them instead of your server. Feels like you’re not welcome there. Despite the experience, we tipped 20%. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Their bruschetta is the best!! For the main course got an eggplant napoleon. It was okay, the eggplant could have been cooked better and the sauce lacked flavour. The serving portion are huge. A descent place for an occasional dinner.
