In the beginning... Nektarios. Soul and body given to every business project!! I met him a few years ago, even though he was in the area of wider... focus much earlier!!! He conquers you with an authentic warmth and immediacy, from the first moment!!! He has this "purity" in his demeanor...which is not current these days...in Athens. He carried this exact energy to Soul Kitchen. Even the fact that he uses English terminology with Greek writing gives, if anything, his mark. So he built (yet..) a restaurant/wine bar....with all the knowledge he has (no, not a few!!!!!!..) but mainly with SOUL!!! He searches, runs, carries and tries!!!!. He organizes ...or rather orchestrates ....and finally the customer ENJOYS. I'm somehow tired, or rather bored, of the ubiquitous restaurants with "mommy" food!!! Without underestimating them, I'm sorry, but not all...the mothers....cook deliciously, not enough of them....have "well-traveled" knowledge, not even those they evaluate. We love moms with their food, but until then. In Soul Kitchen, what is cooked (potentially it could be a grandmother's or mother's, so as not to upset...) but it is beyond any "family" memory..... Simple but not simple.... ..DELICIOUS!!! Grilled, excellent and wonderfully marinated (when and where needed). Portions....large,. Warm atmosphere, with well-sought.... separate pieces of furniture, from dining rooms reminiscent of the old Athenian dining room/living room!!! Music, absolutely appropriate for food, relaxation and beautiful gatherings around the hearth.....sensual and slightly lively, when the rhythms change. The service is one of the warmest and - as far as - in Athens. Without wanting to belittle anyone else in the room,..let me give the little "weakness", to Ms. Maria....for her kindness and finesse. Let's go now, to the heavy "paper", the kitchen which of course is number one in the restaurants. Here, it makes you not want to finish the dish, because it has two STARS: Alexandros and Almaz who take care of it. You can't help but ask their names!!!!! They are responsible for every bite, taste and satisfaction!!! Without ANY impulse I sign (may I be allowed, after years of rich tasting experience and knowledge), that: everything that exists and what is cooked in this restaurant has been made after a lot of effort, research, excellent raw materials and so on ......with a lot of SOUL!!!! It goes without saying that the restless Nektarios (you spontaneously address him as Enikos...) organizes the popular pleon, Monday Symposia (excellent idea) and every first Sunday the buffet with Ethiopian cuisine. Fridays live!!! ONE comment/observation, (and regarding several restaurants, recently......) : Among other things, the salad or the entrée...........it is necessary that sufficient time elapses, with the main course!!! First the first dishes are collected and THEN the main dishes follow, unless the customer has a different preference!!!!!! Food is Enjoyment and Fun. And these two need... their time. Bravo, then, to dear Nektarios, bravo to his team too!!! Here everyone puts...Soul, without a doubt.
