Was just here 2 minutes ago. This absolute jerk at register, shorter, brunette with glasses said he couldn’t break a 100 dollar bill for whatever made up reason and lectured me about it and was so rude I don’t even know how to explain how rude he was. He said “everywhere I’ve ever worked has never been able to break a 100”. It was so stupid. I reminded him that speedway does it for me all the time. It seemed as if he couldn’t wait to tell me about it when he saw me take out the 100 dollar bill. As if it was his “gotcha” moment of the night. So corny. When I walked in initially before cashing out he was slumped over the counter looking all tired by the way. The last thing I want to deal with on my way home from a long day is some tired grown man with a mood disorder. Find workers who can handle the job.

I am a professional rideshare driver working the late-night shift. At approximately 11:45 PM on May 28, I pulled into this Fastrac location to pump gas and purchase two bottles of water. As someone on the road for hours at a time, I rely on regular, predictable route logistics and standard facility access. This store has a clear sign posted on the restroom door instructing customers to ask an employee to be buzzed in via their electronic security lock. I followed the store rules exactly, walked inside, and politely asked the lone night-shift employee on duty to use the restroom. At that exact moment, two individuals in plain clothes wearing generic police vests walked past us toward the restrooms. The employee immediately pressed the electronic buzzer to let them in. He then turned directly to me, hesitated, and told me that the bathrooms were closed for the night. When I immediately called out the flat-out contradiction happening right in front of my face, the employee doubled down and explicitly stated that law enforcement is permitted to use the facilities but the general public is excluded. Let’s look at the actual facts of this situation: — The store was completely empty except for the employee, myself, and the two plainclothes individuals. There was zero crowd control issue, safety threat, or operational reason to deny access. — The employee is actively bypassing corporate security locks for unverified individuals in plain clothes based entirely on a vest, while actively lying to and rejecting a rule-abiding, paying customer who just spent money at their pumps and registers. This is an absurd, hypocritical double standard and incredibly lazy customer service. If your corporate policy dictates that the public restrooms are closed after a certain hour for safety, then enforce it across the board. Do not selectively hand out privileges to specific professions while treating regular commercial drivers like second-class citizens. Corporate/EG America has been contacted directly regarding this location’s arbitrary and dishonest management of store facilities. If you are a professional driver, delivery worker, or standard commuter navigating Utica late at night, take your business elsewhere. This location does not respect its customers.
