Decent portion, fair price, but my battered fish was unbelievably oily, as if it had barely been drained at all. The batter was just saturated, you could press it with a fork and see oil oozing out of it. Made me feel nauseous and I ended up chucking half of it in the bin. Please make sure any food from a deep fat fryer is drained for at least 1 full minute, preferably 2.

If they didn’t advertise themselves as “fresh” fish & chips I might not have been so harsh. I will also take into account it is Anzac Long Weekend. But the fish (whiting), scallops & calamari was not fresh. In fact, all pieces felt a little tough as if it was pre-cooked & re-cooked to order. Only problem with that, is there was not enough of the product. $30 for the Fisherman’s Box (2 x crumbed whiting, 2 x crumbed scallops, 2 x calamari & a drink of choice). Being a Sunday there was a 10% surcharge & a card fee surcharge so $33.17 all up. Can’t fault the flavouring in the crumb, the only thing it didn’t work with was the Scallops. Asked for no lemon & even though the server repeated that back to me there was no mention of it on the receipt so the kitchen placed it on. I feel there are better places along the walk to the main beach Meal type: Brunch Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
