me encantó fui con mi hija y se sentía ambiente relajado y tranquilo. Me encantó el capuchino cremoso buen servicio y rico menú. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I wish this place was better because it's in a good location. You usually have to awkwardly interrupt someone on their phone to order. Coffee is mid. And unfortunately the food is so bad and over priced. I ordered the avocado toast and the bread was wet because I think they make and freeze their avocado mash in advance. There were legit chunks of frozen avocado on the wet bread

Hi Susan, I want to apologize for your experience and I’m sorry about the cost. I’m going to refund your order. Please write me an email to owners@theoptimistraleigh.com and I’ll take care of it. One thing though that I’d like to dispute is the avocado… these are bought fresh almost daily and are never frozen. I’m sorry you got a cold chunk but I assure you it was not frozen. I normally really enjoy going to the Optimist. They have a good range of drinks. Their coffee, lattes, and matcha are good. Also most of the baristas are also super helpful and really friendly and make me want to come back. However during my last visit, the service was pretty bad. There was only one person working at the counter and he was making several drinks. When I walked in and waited at the cash register for him to take my order, I was not greeted or acknowledged for several minutes which was quite rude. To make matters worse, when I ordered a green matcha it was clumpy with chunks of matcha powder in my drink and a bunch of matcha sitting at the bottom of the cup. Normally the matcha is great so I don't know if the specific person who made my drink just needs more training on how to make matcha. I'm hoping that the lack of customer service and poor quality drink will just be a one time event.
