I wouldn’t be able to recommend a night at The Filly Inn. As myself and my partner crawled on all fours in half-dress trying to swat at the dozens of mosquitos at 1.30am last night, I decided to write this review. The mosquitos themselves are not the problem, it was 1. The lack of warning from the hotel that we should avoid having our window open 2. On being eaten alive in the middle of the night, discovering that our only form of hope was a completely empty mosquito repellent plug-in and a fan that was as loud as concord taking off, but with the strength of a hamsters fart, safe to say I was annoyed 3. While inspecting every inch of the room for my blood filled friends, seeing how incredibly dusty the room actually was. The headboard and skirting boards were thick with dark dust. Separately we enjoyed a very underwhelming dinner, in which my tomato and mozzarella starter had to be inspected with a microscope in order to spot the half a baby tomato that had been finely chopped up. On asking where the tomato was, I was told, ‘it’s heritage’. Overall I don’t think the room deserved the £200 price tag, I would expect more sleep and fewer bites.

Nicely kept pub. Staff are friendly and helpful. Menu is varied and competitively priced. Dog friendly. Great choice of drinks. On the main route between Brockenhurst and Lymington. So next time you are passing .... Dont.
