The husband and I are trying to watch what we're eating, so we shared a meal and appetizers. We got the Mongolian ribeye, which is pretty good! As a side, I got the Nyo mashed potatoes. There was absolutely nothing special about them. Tasted no different than the ones I make at home. I was kind of surprised for the price all you get is steak and mashed potatoes. You would think there would be a side salad or vegetables with it. The Bang Bang Shrimp was delicious! Writing this review is making me want more. The Hipster fries were a negative for both of us. There was nothing good about them in our opinion. Service was okay, nothing exceptional or extremely bad. Just average service. We went on a weekend night and it was very loud in there. Not sure if it's always like that, but it definitely was the night we went. I'm not sure if we will go back. Although the steak and the shrimp were good, I expected better/more for the price. Filo's Tavern was an excellent dining experience. The restaurant is very pleasant in its appearance. The decorator had good taste and went to a lot of trouble to make this a welcoming environment. The menu is surprising in a small town restaurant. I had cedar plant salmon with a glaze and mashed potatoes on the side. It was cooked perfectly. Prime rib is on the menu. One of my dining companions has had this dish on a few occasions and heartily recommended it. The service was excellent. We also met the chef who came by our table.. His accomplishments are impressive and the food served at Filo's is a reflection of his experience and attention to detail. For anyone who has a chance to try Filo's Tavern in Winchester, do not pass up the opportunity. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
