Made a booking for 2:15 today as we are staying in the hotel. First table we were offered was at a Fire exit it seemed like it was added in as an over flow table and never removed. (Restaurant was at 20% capacity) 2nd table we were offered was better but again felt like it was just jutted in behind a stone column detached from the restaurant and we settled on a 3rd table which was the best of the lot but beside the open kitchen. That was acceptable until the blender started going in the kitchen. Asked if they had Moretti or Peroni on tap they only had their love child version PERETTI. Lastly I was disappointed with the menu as I had checked online before I arrived. First thing I noticed is the prices were all nearly 10% more than on the website and then also they were missing the items I was looking forward to trying. I settled on an 8oz Irish Angus Burger and my wife settled on a starter portion of Nachos. She liked her dish. My burger was fairly poor. Firstly it was more like 5oz and it was 100% a frozen burger. There was no texture of beef to it. It was void of flavour. When I quizzed if it was frozen the waitress said she would check with the chef and he insists it was fresh (no chance) also the brioche bun was flaky and also the garnish of onion ring made me sad. It was as stale as a flip flop that spent the summer in Delhi on Gandis foot. Chips were decent to be fair and our waitress was very pleasant. Dear Stephen Ward, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent dining experience at Fire & Salt. I’m pleased to hear that our waitress provided friendly and attentive service during your visit. However, I am very sorry that your experience with the table allocation, menu, and your meal did not meet your expectations. I completely understand your frustration regarding the initial tables offered, the noise from the kitchen, and the differences between the online menu and what was available on arrival. Regarding your burger, I apologise that it did not meet the standard you expected. We take all comments about food quality seriously, and I will be sharing your feedback with our culinary team so they can review preparation, portioning, and presentation to ensure it reflects the quality we aim to provide. I will also review the menu pricing and online discrepancies with the team to ensure clarity and consistency for our guests. Thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback. It is invaluable in helping us improve the guest experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide a more enjoyable dining experience on your next visit. Kind Regards, Cody Nathwani Front Office Manager

Service and atmosphere were all good, staff were friendly. Fish and chips were well portioned and the burger was great. Little on the pricey side but it is a hotel after all so expected. Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I probably had the worst restaurant experience of my life. I went with my partner for dinner, and there wasn't enough space, so we waited, having drinks at a high table where we could see where the food was being served. It was quite busy, so we were checking out the dishes and everything. Then we noticed that the chef who finishes the dishes touches everything with his hands: the order slips, the stamp, he wipes the sweat from his brow with his hand, and on top of that, he finishes plating. I mean, with those same hands that touch the food, he touches everything, wipes the sweat... DISGUSTING. THAT PERSON SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF THE KITCHEN. We didn't even finish our drinks after what we saw. I don't think I'll ever set foot in that place again. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
