Portion of meat vs veggies was most likely exactly the correct amount, but I would normally get at least double that amount of meat for less money if I went to IHOP and got a cheese steak instead of a steak and cheese sub. But everything else was great. Paid 12 bucks for maybe half a cup of meat.

Ughhh... I hate that this was a poor experience.. I love Firehouse Subs and I don't think I've ever had a similar sort of visit. When we walked in, we didn't get the standard greeting that you typically get... I know that folks hate doing that, but it's nice to hear, "welcome to Firehouse" even when it's the usual half ass, forced greeting. The individual that took our order was pleasant, but things seemed to shift when I didn't add a tip. I hate when POS systems make you choose whether or not to supplement someone's income before they've even completed the task - how do I know how well it's going to be fulfilled before it's fulfilled? Also, if I'm ordering food and standing at a register to do it, seating myself, and then fetching my food from a counter to bring back to my table, I'm not tipping someone to simply do the job they were hired to do. Companies should properly compensate their employees. It took a bit for our subs to be made, which is fine... but when I went to fetch my food, I thanked them and was barely acknowledged in response - the individual didn't bother to look up from what she was doing, nor did she actually say anything, more of a hurumph as if it was a bother to interact with me. That was.. whatever. But the most disappointing thing was our subs. The trays were dripping wet, and though the wax paper caught most of the water, it didn't catch all of it. Visually, it was also kinda gross to see how wet the wax paper was in the tray beneath our subs... the majority of my meat was loaded on half of my sub... and the amount of mayo and mustard was not the standard amount. So. Much. "Sauce". Everything slid around under the bread.. tomatoes bailed and the quantity of napkins required to get through the meal was insane. Thankfully, we've been to a lot of Firehouses and we know that our experience isn't the norm... it's just this particular location on this particular day... we'll certainly continue eating at Firehouse, but we won't return to this location.
