I hadn't been to the fireside in probably 10 years? So when my book club gals decided to make a resi at their new location I was looking forward to checking it out. They did a very nice job on the interior. Lots to look at. We were a party of 5. I was the last to arrive. Likely a place you want to make reservations at. We met around 5'ish on a Friday and it was quite busy. Happy Hour was also underway. Our seating arrangement was not to be desired. We were an "odd" number(party of 5), but for some reason were seated in a very awkward location. bench seats with 3 (2 person) bar style tables. So..if you do the math...1 person was sharing a table for 2..solo. And...as such, it was extremely difficult to socialize given the seating arrangement. The singleton seated person(Ok, it was ME) had to look over the shoulder and up 2 tables in order to try and hear(it was quite loud in there too) what was being said amongst those sitting at the far opposite table. Keeping in mind..we had reservations. I ordered a pasta dish. I dont see it on the menu online right now, but believe it was like a penne/bacon/chicken type dish. It was not large by any means. In fact, Im sure I ate it all. Which rarely happens in cases where pasta is ordered for most of us. The white cream sauce was tasty though. I did enjoy my meal. The server, was another story. I realize they were busy. BUT, our glasses we being collected about every 10mins. One of us had a glass of white wine that still had a nice sized mouthful in it taken before she was even done it! Im certain they collected glasses at our table 5-6 times in a 1.5h period...And it was not as if we were filling our table with empty drink glasses. Before our dirty dishes were even taken, they slapped a "reserved" sign on one of the tables we were using. While we were still there. Talking & finishing drinks. All 5 of us were appalled & felt like we were definitely being rushed out. Am I in a rush to get back in for another visit...not to much.
