We had a wonderful dinner at Fish Inn tonight. Everything we ordered was excellent. I had the fried chicken burger, which was moist, flavorful and really well cooked. Two of us had the fish and chips — perfectly crispy without being overly greasy — and another had a burger that far exceeded her expectations. But what really made the evening special was the owner. We’re visiting from Italy, and ordering for our group took a little extra patience because everything had to be translated into Italian and then relayed back for the order. He couldn’t have been more patient, friendly and welcoming. He made a point of checking that we were happy with everything, and gave us such a warm and genuine thank-you when we left. Great food is one thing, but being treated with that kind of warmth makes a place memorable. We left very happy and would absolutely recommend Fish Inn. We regularly order from Fish Inn and it has always been excellent. However, our latest order was disappointing. The grilled fish was undercooked, the chips tasted old and seemed to have been reheated, and the fish cake had an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately, when it comes to fish, food safety is really important, so we couldn't take the risk of eating it. We hope this was just a one-off and that the quality improves. Sadly, after this experience, we'll be trying a different fish and chip shop next time. Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30
