I never thought I’d see the day, but in the battle of the burgers, Five Guys has officially become the "value" play. While everyone jokes about the prices here, the local arrival of Whataburger has really put things into perspective. Imagine paying $15–$16 at a place that claims to cook "fresh" behind a wall, only to get a standard fast-food experience. At Five Guys, there’s no mystery—you actually see them smashing the beef and dropping the fries right in front of you. Why Five Guys is still the king: Transparency: They don’t lie to you. The food is made in an open kitchen, not hidden away. The Fries: They actually taste like a potato (imagine that!) and the portions are legendary. The Perks: Free peanuts while you wait? It’s the little things that count. Unless it’s 2:00 AM and you’re desperate for a midnight fix, there is no reason to settle for the "new guy" in town. Five Guys delivers on the quality that others only claim to have. Skip the hype and stick with the real deal. They usually offer free drinks for veterans as well nothing at for veterans at Whataburger. Even firebox beside them offers military discounts and once again it's cheaper and better.
