Pros: Their shawarma rice is to die for.
Cons: a little bit oily. This goes for all shawarma joints.
Today another shawarma war has emerged. Some have their own twists some offer bigger and more options. Yes I will admit, Food Channel may not be the best tasting, but after two decades, they have managed to stay consistent. They are a classic in my book, and will remain to be one of my few shawarma faves.
The All Beef or the All Beef with Cheese is what I usually get. It depends if I’m in a cheesy mood or not. Lol! The beef is always great, and you can taste the margination of the sirloin meat.
I go to Food Channel at SM Hypermart to grab a quick bite, as its conveniently close to work. I even somewhat reminisce as well over the years when I ate their shawarma. From the simple stand at the side of Vira Mall, that was next to the fruit stall area, to the place to grab a bite with friends after playing a bit of arcade at Glorietta 2. The memories… Even when a friend named Edward introduced me to the Shawarma Rice, I remember like it was just yesterday. It was so good, I even ended up almost finishing half a bottle of the hot sauce. Every bite had a generous amount smeared on top. Lol!
With another shawarma war currently in play, I think Food Channel will lay low and survive. The classics never die.
