Every time I come here it's just a little bit better. Last time for lunch I had the Philly cheese steak. Excellent, but if the meat had been a little more tender, I would also have given it 5 stars. Parking: On both sides next to the restaurant and on the side of the road along the result. Because I was looking for a nice place for a High Tea near Heteren, I decided to have a drink here while I was in the area. I had read a number of scathing reviews, which made me hesitate to make a reservation at FortVier. I received a friendly welcome and was allowed to choose a spot on the sunny terrace by the water. My white wine turned out to be cool but not really cold and the few ice cubes I asked for were no problem. In the meantime, when I had looked at the menu, I decided to ask if it was possible to have a bite to eat and my order was passed to the kitchen at 5 p.m. I had to wait another half hour before my 2 dishes were served; but hey... with this view it's certainly not a punishment and the Salmon Pate and Eel plus the Duck and Orange were definitely worth it. The signs looked attractive. I initially thought the salmon with eel jelly was on the salty side, but when I tasted it at the same time with a piece of stewed turnip, the taste appeared to be balanced. The duck was delicious too! I have not seen the negative words about the staff. One was more experienced; the other younger and enthusiastic. In short: this was my first, but not my last visit. Parking: When the restaurant is full of guests, there may not be enough parking.
