Drive Thur worker dejuan was rude stayed on his phone kept his back turned from the window so if you did want something he didn't see it. Gave me my food and walked away from the window when I was trying to ask for napkins I asked for a side by side shake I didn't not get that when I asked about the shake he had an attitude like it was his drink or something for my first time this was the worst experience ever. I have a feeling that if Roger Ebert were still alive, he'd likely be a fan of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. Ebert was a longtime fan of the Steak n' Shake of yesteryear and that's a spirit that is alive and well - in Freddy's. Freddy's offers a stylish, fun atmosphere and a menu that ranges from frozen custard to steakburgers (done in the traditional style of a steakburger), chicken sandwiches, combo meals, delicious dogs (hot dogs), a veggie burger, kids combos, and sides such as fries (thinner, crispy and nicely seasoned), cheese curds, onion rings, chips, all-beef chili, and more. They even have apple sauce. If you get apple sauce at a burger joint, you're a weirdo. Okay, okay. Don't yell at me. Yes, I know it may be better for kids. I'm just saying your kid is probably going to grow up to be a serial killer. Seriously, though. Freddy's is awesome. This was my first visit to this location and there's still not one in my neighborhood. This location is on Noggle Way, which remains one of my absolutely favorite street names in Indy. It's sort of hidden off Emerson and County Line Road on the southside in a cubby hole right next to Cheddar's. While Freddy's has only been in the Indiana market for a few years, it's steadily growing. I believe this is one of the newer locations. As a general rule, the interior is fairly consistent chainwide and typically pretty strong with accessibility. I've also found a pretty decent consistency, at least here in Central Indiana, with friendly employees. It's always a good sign when the chain keeps growing even through a pandemic. At Freddy's, food is "made to order." Much like that aforementioned chain, Freddy's begins making your sandwich when you actually order it. This means the drive-thru experience (or inside dining) is a touch slower than some fast-food joints. However, it also means the food is fresher. I ordered a #1 combo. This is an original double with cheese, though I requested no cheese. It also includes two steakburger patties, onion, mustard, and pickle on a toasted bun. I typically order plain - I don't tend to like a lot of texture with my food, however, I do like the flavors. So, I'm weird and sometimes I just pick it off (I know. You're thinking to yourself "I hope I never have lunch with him in public."). It also comes with a side - I chose fries and a drink. I upsized my unsweetened iced tea. They use Luzianne tea products. The food was delivered with only a minor wait. It was early in the dinner hour and there were no other cars when I entered the line, though I noted as I sat nearby to enjoy my meal that cars were starting to form a line within a few minutes. Both employees I encountered were friendly and helpful. My order was accurate - including my special order for the burger. I like Freddy's. I like the atmosphere. I like the food. I've had good experiences with the employees. All these things were true here. The next time, I hope to actually venture inside and I wish my neighborhood would get one, though it seems like another similar chain (Culver's) is more prevalent on my east side of Indy). While I can't quite say this is a destination experience, I'd not hesitate to visit again when I'm near Franciscan for a doctor's appointment. Greenwood Park Mall and Southport are also close by. I enjoyed this experience quite a bit and look forward to returning in the near future.
