There’s a reason you can’t get a booking at Frenchie’s Bistro & Brewery since they opened. The place absolutely nails the balance between great food, great value and genuinely warm hospitality. I visited for my birthday and from the moment I walked in the team made the night feel special. A handwritten birthday card on the table, effortless banter from the staff, and that rare kind of service where even on a packed night they still make time for you. It’s busy for a reason, but you never feel rushed. The $14 concept across the menu makes it incredibly easy to keep ordering and trying things, so my biggest tip is to pace yourself. Plates come out fast but the format encourages you to order as you go, which turns the night into a bit of a tasting tour. Trying almost everything on the menu, a few dishes stood out. The steak with the rich entrecôte sauce was easily a highlight (and thanks to a small ordering glitch we somehow ended up with two no complaints there). The seared tuna was beautifully cooked and the Brussels sprouts were an absolute must order. To finish, the chocolate mousse was the perfect end to the night. Light, indulgent and exactly what you want after a table full of great food. Frenchie’s has managed to create something that feels fun, social and a little bit special all at once. It’s the kind of place you can settle into for the whole night, or just drop in for a cocktail and a plate before heading somewhere else. Either way, it’s easy to see why everyone is trying to get a table. Price per person: $40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Plenty of side dishes for everyone including a vege section but much better if you are pescatarian as steak and fish are definitely their plats du jour. Dietary restrictions: They do ask about dietary restrictions on arrival but due to the volume of dishes they push out, it might be hard for them to make alterations so be prepared or maybe ring ahead to confirm (they are very active on Instagram should you have any burning questions before your arrival which I highly commended!).
