Every time I have gone to George Town, the staff and regular customers have been open and friendly to me (I'm American). Everyone seems happy to have a conversation about anything at all. Went for some live DJ music last night, and all drinks were just 600 Yen, and there was no cover charge! I was enjoying myself so much, I missed the last train. Then, the owner and staff/guest DJ made sure to order me a cab to take me home. I really highly recommend George Town for a casual night out, a place to go for a nijikai, or just to chill and listen to music.
