We stayed here recently on a weekend visit to Leighton Moss. Lovely comfortable rooms with all the amenities you need and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was really good and would highly recommend the homemade pie, had it twice. Visited the local nature reserve which is in walking distance and had peregrines there which we saw and got fantastic views from the top.

We stayed for 2 nights in this homely Inn which is a very old historical building run by a lovely couple. We were warmly welcomed by Janet and shown to our room which was a good size with an en suite shower room. The bed was very comfortable and was stocked with tea and coffee and complimentary bottles of water. There is a bar with a good range of well stocked real ales. Food is served on the evenings with the vast majority home made using locally sourced ingredients. It’s really good quality pub food at reasonable prices. Breakfast is included in the price and it is a quality full English with plenty of toast and tea/coffee. There is also a range of cereals and orange juice. Warton is a small village close to Carnforth and a great base to explore the local area and very close to the M6. The George Washington is excellent value and we look forward to staying again.
