I’m guessing this place has gone down hill since Rick Steves visited last/recommended it. The service was extremely slow and inattentive and much less than friendly, particularly by the older woman that appeared to be running the show- everyone that worked there seemed fearful of her, making an uncomfortable tension and stressed out staff. There was a young blonde girl who was attentive and friendly, however, she only seated us served us water. The food... it didn’t come close to expectations based on reviews and recommendations. I had the vegetables and polenta. The vegetables tasted like they were marinated in straight vinegar for a week before grilling. The vegetables were also undercooked. The polenta was dry and chewy. The pastes/purées were good. This was the worst meal I had while visiting Ireland. Very disappointing for our fine dining experience. I’d recommend going somewhere else while visiting Dingle. Everywhere else I ate while in Ireland had good to great food with warm and welcoming service. The Global Village Restaurant really missed the mark.
