The Pub below is very jolly . Great food. Location is easy . Walkability: The town of Bedford is well laid out. Good for walking and riding. Food & drinks: The pub is a nice surprise. The chef absolutely knows what he's doing ,(I found my dish was not predictable. It presented beautifully and you're in the pub atmosphere) . Enjoy!! Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic

We were in town for the Fall Festival and stopped in The Pub downstairs for dinner. It was very busy as I expected it to be. One waiter and a bartender. I understand there is a shortage of help these days in most places, so we are patient. I had a good attitude for a while, but the waiter ignored us completely as we sat there. The bartender noticed we sat a long time without service, so he came to our table to take our drink order. No greeting, no thank you for being patient, just took our order and hurried away. When he served our beers he slammed them down so hard my drink splashed out on the table as he rushed away again. He returned to take our order very abruptly and rushed away again. No customer service at all. I ordered the Chicken and Shrimp entree, which was all chicken and one small partial shrimp. While we were eating another couple came through the door and he bluntly told them there's no room. No apology, no explanation of how long a wait. The customer had a baffled look on his face like he was just told to leave. Obviously they are not in business to please the customer and they (the male bartender in the Pub) don't care. I'd suggest the old Bedford Seafood Tavern down the street for excellent customer service and good food. Don't go to the Pub at Golden Eagle Inn just because the exterior looks inviting, because it is not!
