Since it's reopening, you can tell that the management team and the staff have really put their heart and sweat to make this is a clean and friendly place to hang out with friends or for a casual business meeting. The owner makes sure that the place is kept really clean and sanitized after every use. The food and drink is good as always. It is a definite hidden gem around Bay and Wellesley area. Keep up the good work!

Good first impression, went back 2nd time and I'll never be back; won't ever recommend this place to anyone else. Messed up our orders when it wasn't even busy. They need more responsible staff.

I've been going to Green Grotto for years and I've actually been to their original location at Yonge and Finch many, many years ago so I was really eager to see their newest location which happened to be close to my work place. The space looks nice with a cafe feel to it (light cafe music playing in the background). I went for a late lunch and had their rice special (M-F 2-5pm) which was minced pork on rice + appetizer + drink (small size) which could be upsized to large for $1. There are a few appetizer choices but I opted for the fried oysters. Verdict: Food was average but my drink was really good! Had a hot ginger milk tea and it was spicy (lots of ginger flavour!) and malty from the black tea with just the right amount of sweetness (usually I ask for half sugar but had forgotten). The fried oysters came with seafood sauce and was a good portion size in this meal. The rice on the other hand was a really, really small bowl (and no egg)! Smaller than the free popcorn bowl. I can understand that it's a combo meal so the portion might be smaller but I hope that's not the regular size! Based on the food I had, this place would be at best 3 stars (so it's definitely not a food destination), but my drink and the ambience (+ large selection of asian magazines, yes!) make me rate it hgher. Service: quick and polite.
