Bertha von Suttner Platz es uno de los lugares más inusuales que suelen visitar los turistas. Este café te ofrece estupendos platos de la cocina escocesa. Merece la pena venir a Haferkater por sus bien trabajadas gachas de avena. La mayoría de visitantes dicen que puedes probar aquí con confianza una casera berlinesa. Este lugar tiene entre sus bebidas un recomendable capuchino.

Muchos comensales afirman que el personal es estupendo. Un pulcro servicio es siempre un punto importante. Disfruta de su hogareña atmósfera. Los usuarios de Google son muy generosos con este lugar: le han otorgado 4,1 estrellas.

I ordered a cappucino with coconut milk today. Anyone who is familiar with it knows how difficult it is to froth this milk well. A young lady served it to me today to perfection with good latte art. I had to go back and tip. The coffee from Haferkater is also very tasty in itself! Ps: I'm a barista myself Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

My first visit to Haferkater was on March 4, 2024 at around 7:30 a.m. at the main train station in Düsseldorf. There was already a short queue of people in their 20s and 40s ordering coffee in front of the small store, which was just around the corner to the right of the main entrance, and two young baristas were busy serving customers. While I waited I was able to study the map. Haferkater sells different variations of porridge (according to the website, the basic recipe is based on a traditional Scottish recipe!) for €4.00 (small cup) to €5.00 (large cup). Various coffee specialties are available here around €3-6. I opted for the "protein hangover" (topping made from some vegetable protein powder, walnuts, banana and syrup) and a small Café Americano for €2.95 (the large one would have cost €3.75). After placing my order, I stood at the serving counter and was able to watch my porridge being prepared live. The waitress scooped two small heaps of porridge from a large pot into a paper cup and decorated it with the topping described. Disgustingly, she wiped the porridge that spilled over the edge of the lid from the cup with the milk cloth (but it's not that bad, the immune system wants to stay on its toes). After I made myself "comfortable" in a waiting area at the far too loud train station, I spooned my porridge expectantly. I quickly noticed what I had only researched later on the official website, shortly before writing this review: the traditional Scottish recipe, which uses Oatkater, only uses oat flakes, water and salt. You could taste it! The sparse topping, once mixed into the porridge, managed to add at least a little bit of flavor. All in all, the porridge fell far short of expectations and I was annoyed that I had paid almost €5 for porridge. A little tip for porridge-hungry people: you can get oat flakes in every supermarket for just a few cents, and with a little creativity (and little money) you can make your own topping. 5€ is DEFINITELY TOO MUCH for porridge. The biggest price factor is of course the toppings, many of which are organic. Of course it's a shame if you didn't like it - but maybe you'll give another menu another chance. Best regards Anna More
