The place is nice. The dining room is lovely. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food is delicious! The tempora shrimp appetizer was amazing! Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

My sushi rolls were… ok. Nothing special and the fish tasted bland. Not too much flavor. Miso soup was very flavorful however I was disappointed in the amount of tofu and seaweed provided. The tofu should have been in larger pieces and the soup itself just was broth, barely any fillings given. Although the tofu was okay, the service was absolutely unacceptable. I walked in to pick up my door dash order, that mind you I ordered myself for pickup, not to deliver to somebody else. As I was leaving I was yelled at by an employee that I was not holding the bag correctly and that I would “ruin the food” , I repeat myself yelled at. The food was for me not for anybody else and I thought his tone and attitude towards the situation was so bizarre. Long story short, the food was completely fine other than the taste and I left the establishment feeling discriminated against. So if you want bland food, rude employees, and to feel like your not welcome somebody haiku sushi is just for you. Haiku is a gift to Main Street in Riverhead. A wonderful Japanese restaurant that is simple and clean in design and very warm and welcoming. The owners are welcoming but not overwhelming and make you feel very comfortable. The food that they prepare is extremely fresh and seasoned to perfection. They have expanded their menu to include a variety of Chinese dishes that we enjoyed tremendously. Haiku is certainly a destination worth checking out and the prices are very reasonable.
