To the Residents of Hamilton Lake, the reasons why the couple didnt go thru with the purchase of The Hamilton House was out of our control. The first meeting we offered the full purchase price of $300,000.00 with a check straight from the bank. The current owners did not want all $300,000 up front. They wanted partial payment down and then a land contract for the remaining balance spread over 5 years. Land Contracts do not guarantee ownership. We then had a second meeting and made an offer that was agreed upon verbally with a Mortgage Note with both parties interests being secured. Two days later that agreement was declined by the owners who said they want to stick with only a Land Contract. Now we have spoken with them a third time and now they have raised the price to $400,000.00 in full. At this time we are not going to continue playing the back and forth game and are going to pass on purchasing the property. The residents of Hamilton Lake understand why this establishment has not been sold.

I love this bar. I live right down the road. But when its 1am and their is 8 people in the bar and the bartender has to close and stop serving because of bullshit owners that won't pay the bartender a little overtime. This needs to change and put closing time up to the bartenders discretion.
