We love eating here on special occasions, they are occasionally busy but always have enough staff to cope. Lush food and very friendly staff. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Food was of a good quality and quite tasty. Portions were quite small, especially the Pork Lettuce Wrap starter that comes with 4 large lettuce leaves, but not enough "food" to get the flavour. Ordered 4 mains + rice + noodles + chips between 2 adults and a teenager that doesn't wat much, and we ate the whole lot without being full. Good, but not as good as Summer Palace. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking

"Happy Gathering" is an optimistic name. Sadly, the only thing gathering during our meal was disappointment. The décor looked tired and dated, giving the impression that both the menu and the interior had been left untouched for decades. The siu mai were fatty and flavourless, the curry squid was poor quality and covered in what tasted like instant curry sauce, the dumplings were thick, doughy parcels hiding equally flavourless fillings, and the turnip cakes were bland and undercooked in the middle. The only thing that genuinely impressed me was the lemon water. In a restaurant full of dim sum, it was the slice of lemon that brought the most character to the table. That's probably not the review anyone wants to read, but unfortunately it's the one this meal earned.
