I’ve been shopping at Harris Teeter East Market Place for about 4 years, and honestly, it’s always been one of my go-to stores. But something I’ve noticed over and over is how the store manager, Lisa, speaks to her staff, especially the younger ones. Every time I’m in the store, there seems to be some kind of argument or tense exchange. The way she talks to them just feels really disrespectful—like she’s scolding them instead of guiding them. It’s uncomfortable as a customer to hear that kind of tone in the middle of the store. I’ve even seen staff look embarrassed or frustrated during those moments. It doesn’t seem like a healthy work environment, and it definitely affects the vibe of the store. Even when I’ve gone to the service desk for something simple like a money order, Lisa has come across as impatient and not very friendly. I’m not trying to tear anyone down—I just think there’s a better way to lead a team. A little more patience and respect could go a long way. This store has so much potential, and I’d love to see the energy there feel more positive—for both the employees and the customers.
