Wow, hurts to give this rating but... so underwhelming it is deserved. New Years Eve reservation, how about letting you know on the phone that it is a price fixed meal with only four entree's? We have loved this restaurant in the past but so far off its game tonight it's hard to fathom. First round was the highlight (if for $60 you can call it a highlight) simple salad for me and artichoke spread with toast for my wife. We graded it a B-. Entrees came next, my Beef Wellington contained a silver dollar medallion sized beef steak, dry, flavorless and that's the best I can say. My wife's chicken "wing", simply put, worse. The mashed potatoes were flavorful, carrots were good, main dishes, simply awful. Both of the accompanying desserts were good, not great. Creme Brûlée much better than the bland Key Lime pudding. The waitress was attentive, tipped accordingly. The last $190 I will ever give this restaurant.

Wow - I have a new favorite place in Brunswick! Not just for the astounding food, but for the friendly staff and community feel. I was doing the Arts Festival, and my booth was right outside of Henry and Marty's. All day I watched folks peruse the menu posted next to the door, mention the "Eggplant Parmesan" sign in one window and, most intriguing of all, notice the "Maine Blueberry Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream" sign staring me right in the face where I sat. I had never been to Henry and Marty's, because the timing wasn't ever right when I was in town (they're open from 5-9, except Mondays). Now was my chance. I called for reservations, and told the friendly person who answered the phone (I later found out this was Paul, the efficient and attentive-to-every-detail owner and manager) that I'd like a reservation for two after the festival ended, and that I had been tempted by the Blueberry Pie sign in the window all day. He told me that he would reserve a table for my friend and me, and that if we needed to come in earlier, it was fine. Once I packed up my artwork and walked my friend to her car for her purse, we got back to find our table waiting for us. Our server took some time getting to us, because it was their busiest time and the restaurant was almost full, but she did come to us to let us know she'd be right with us, and apologized for the wait. We were fine with it, because there were SO many wonderful choices (including lots of gluten-free options!) that it took us a while to decide what we wanted! We started with drinks, and my friend's elderflower fizz and my maple old-fashioned were amazing. By the time we were ready to give our orders (being sure that we weren't getting something too filling because - blueberry pie!), I had chosen the tender teriyaki tips from the summer menu and my friend opted for the seafood linguine. I'm about to rave in a way that I reserve for a select few reviews - this ranked with the top meals I have eaten in my lifetime so far. The beef tips literally melted in my mouth - and I mean literally. They were so tender that I barely had to chew them. The sauce was incredible. Flavorful, light, not too sweet or salty, just delicious. The mushrooms added a savory touch. Everything was fresh and perfect. My friend said that she wasn't crazy about the taste of the sauce on her linguine, but the shrimp and scallops were tender and delicious. And the small individual blueberry pies were SO worth the day-long dreaming and longing. They were tart-like rather than a double-crusted traditional pie, but the flavor was to die for - not too sweet, with hints of lemon, nutmeg and cinnamon. The ice cream was fabulous. Yes, I'm almost exclusively gluten-free, but I decided that I would risk the inevitable digestive upset, and it was worth it. It was one of the best desserts I had ever eaten, and we got the last two! I can only say positive things about Henry and Marty's. I can't encourage you enough to experience it for yourself!
