It was extremely hard to find as once you were in the village there were no signs what so ever and it was round the back of the village we and the other people we were meeting had been driving round and round to find it and both of us had to ask a local where it was so I feel that really needs addressing. The food was ok but would of liked the beef for Sunday lunch to be proper big slices of Beef rather than rib so lots of little pieces and the cabbage that was served with it was curried !!! Which was a little strange. The roast potatoes were very very crispy but tasty. My dessert however was lovely could of maybe had more sticky toffee sauce with the pudding. Service: 4

Hi Sue Thank you for taking the time to review us. A little disappointed with the review you have given us as none of your comments were verbalised on the day. You are correct that the pub is nestled behind the church and we are currently in a battle with Highways England to get a sign both sides of the village to tell customers where we are but the want £8000 for the privilege. The beef you mention was indeed a rib roast but it's a forerib with 3 sections so we gave you a slice of all 3 sections so no you didn't get a massive slice of the eye of the meat but a cross section of the whole roast. The roast potatoes and cabbage(no one like boring boiled vegetables) get good feedback so upset you didn't enjoy them. Next time you come if you would like more caramel sauce then please just ask and we can get you some.

We went on burger night. It was a large group which they handled well. The fire was on for us arriving which was nice but it quickly filled the room with smoke. Clothes ended up a bit smelt and the kids were complaining about their eyes. Three burgers were meant to come with pulled pork and two of them had loads and one had almost none... rated good though! Service: 4

Having been driving for a while thought we'd stop at THE HIGHLAND DROVE INN . Really old world rustic building Could have sat looking at the inside all day. Friendly service. Will come back. Nearby activities: Your in a area that just takes your breath away. NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST . Great views. Safety: Good footwear is a must. Walkability: You never know what the CUMBRIAN WEATHER will throw at you. Always have plan B. Food & drinks: I don't understand why the prices are so expensive, probably to pay for their 2nd home in Devon. £4:50 for a warm beer. Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view, Quiet
