I visited this izakaya more than an hour before their listed closing time on Google Maps. Since the restaurant is on the second floor and the noren (Japanese banner indicating the shop is open) and menu were still displayed outside the entrance, I assumed they were open. However, when I asked a staff member if they were still serving, an older staff member rudely told me, "The outside light is off, don't come in!" It was only then that I noticed the lantern at the ground floor entrance was turned off, which made it difficult to know if they were still open. The staff's attitude was very rude and disrespectful. The food is top notch, but it takes a long time to prepare the food. Business hours are appropriate, sometimes open after 10pm, sometimes not. The employees are also tired and lack motivation and energy. Where is the once lively Hitoboshi-san? It is very disappointing.
