Merece la pena visitar Holcombe Tap solo por sus singulares tapas, sus perfectamente elaboradas tiras de pollo rebozadas y sus generosas gambas al ajo. Aquí te van a ofrecer un pudin sabroso. No pierdas la oportunidad de probar su espectacular cerveza de grifo, su extraordinaria cerveza de barril o su sorprendente ginebra. Probar un excelente café latté es una muy buena opción.

Vas a llevarte un buen recuerdo de este lugar, ya que es famoso por su gran servicio y su amable personal, siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Los precios de este lugar se dice que son justos. After spending £77 on 3 sunday dinners for 2 adults and an 11 year old. We were unimpressed . The atmosphere was nice but this mix and match sunday dinner business and 10% surcharge was way more than we planned. My son loved his eat the lot. Staff we friendly quick and really helpful. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: £20–30

After several attempts they answered the phone, then hung up. Sunday 2nd August. We eat here every single week. Shocking. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Apologies that this was your experience when trying to contact us over the phone. We have been having some issues with them and have reported it to our comms company. If there is anything you need while we’re having these issues please drop us a message on socials, or you can book a table on our website. We would never intentionally hang up on our customers. After 20 years as loyal local residents, who have regularly supported both The Holcombe Tap and The Eagle & Child, tonight’s experience on my birthday, no less, has left us feeling insulted, discriminated against, and deeply disappointed. My husband booked a table for a family meal: the two of us, three of our children, and my parents. Every adult at that table is a Blue Light Card holder, senior leaders in education, NHS, emergency services, and public service. We work hard, we serve our community, and we have always appreciated businesses that recognise that. When we arrived, a member of staff questioned whether Blue Light discount could be applied to a group of six or more. Fair enough, she said she would check with the manager and let us know. My husband even said, “If there’s a problem, we will just dine as seperate tables.” We heard nothing. Only when we came to pay the bill were we told the discount would not be honoured. To say this felt disgusting is an understatement. This is a scheme designed to celebrate public service, yet tonight it was used to make us feel like we were trying to take advantage of something we are fully entitled to. Instead of being treated with respect, we were made to feel like an inconvenience or worse, like we were trying to “get away” with something. For a family of Blue Light holders, this felt discriminatory, dismissive, and frankly greedy. These establishments do extremely well financially, and yet the refusal to honour a small gesture of appreciation especially after implying it would be checked speaks volumes about their priorities. We left feeling undervalued, and bitterly upset on what should have been a special evening. We will not be returning to either The Holcombe Tap or The Eagle & Child, and we will be sharing this experience with friends, family, and our wider community. A real shame but tonight made it very clear where customers stand. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Price per person: £60–70
