Large cod was small inside a ballooned batter, somehow there was a large air pocket between the fish and the batter. Chip’s ok ish. I would not recommend this chippy. Oh and forgot to give me my change mistake or not? The two stars is for chips and sorry but no stars for the fish. Price per person: £20–30

This has been our favourite fish and chip shop for almost ten years now. We've tried others in Goole but none of them can compete with Howden Fish Bar. The fish, the batter, the chips, the phenomenal cleanliness, the service, the brilliant wrapping and the lovely free coke etc when you spend over a certain amount. It's truly exemplary. It's a shame it's cash only, but really the place is so good you just wouldn't go anywhere else. We love it. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
