Si prefieres la cocina británica, merece la pena que conozcas este bar. No te quedes sin comer su generoso rosbif, sus sabrosas empanadas o su bien trabajado cordero. Disfruta de uno de los mejores placeres de esta vida: un bien preparado pudin y una sorprendente tarta de queso en agradable compañía. La gente normalmente visita Huntsman Inn para pedir su insuperable cerveza, su sensacional bitter o su irresistible cerveza inglesa.
La atmósfera acogedora de este lugar consigue que sus visitantes se sientan relajados y disfruten de un rato agradable. Muchos críticos estiman que en este establecimiento el personal es cortés. Booked for Sunday lunch today for myself and my family including my 13 month old grandson. Arrived to quite a well packed pub, which is always nice to see. Seated at table for 6 which was a godsend considering my grandchild was seated next to me in a high chair we had plenty of room. The menu is well stocked and the choices are excellent, catering for every taste. Sunday lunch options are very good with a selection of varied meats. Children’s menu rather expensive for a baby but we opted for chicken roast ( although he only ate the veggies) he doesn’t have a massive appetite as with all babies. I opted for pork with crackling which I love but alas mine arrived with absolutely no crackling lol I didn’t mention it! Roast is served with a dish of fresh veg for each person which is a nice addition as we normally have to share. Portion sizes are more than enough with a beautiful huge Yorkshire pudding which is clearly homemade and tasted absolutely lovely. Mash, roast potatoes, roasted parsnips and stuffing with lashings of gravy, just perfect for everyone and although I did miss my cracking, I must admit the food was delicious and piping hot and served beautifully. The pub is busy and obviously very popular, out in the middle of nowhere a real gem of a find especially on a summers day. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, the waitresses very nice and accommodating if we asked for anything. I couldn’t finish my lunch but opted for steamed syrup sponge with custard as I’m the only one who wanted dessert and my grandson got a little pot of ice cream included in his meal deal for £12 Mine was gorgeous and he ate his ice cream but the menu said chocolate sauce as I recall but it didn’t arrive. Overall we had a really lovely experience with beautiful food and a lovely placed table which more than met our needs. I have some constructive feedback for the proprietor, which is not a criticism but I’m sure will be useful going forward from a parent/grandparent perspective 1) We didn’t have any cutlery for the baby I did mention it but the servers were super busy and I didn’t want to bother them again and though he ate most of the veg with his fingers I would have appreciated a little spoon for his mashed potatoes instead of having to use my fork to feed him. He does very well on his own with cutlery. 2) There are no baby changing facilities whatsoever, which is disappointing because I saw another baby/toddler there so we weren’t exclusive! I did ask and was advised “no sorry” The ladies toilets are more than big enough to accommodate one of those pull down baby changers which folds back flat to the wall. Please consider this going forward, as I had to battle with the boy trying change him whilst I sat on the toilet seat which was extremely cramped and awkward and nowhere near ideal with his head very close to the toilet cistern which I found concerning and the floor is not an option for me. I’m sure a second hand changing station with a baby changing mat is better than nothing and would be so much easier for mums or nans with babies. 3) kindly consider reducing the portions and the price for a child under two, as my boy only ate his veggies and a little bit of mash as I wouldn’t let him stick his fingers in the food so the high chair tray was his plate for the meal. Reducing the whole portion by half would have been more than ample for him trust me. I consider £12 very expensive as there was a lot of leftover food which breaks my heart. I would have loved the choice of a smaller portion for him. We all had to eat something off his plate to save embarrassment lol We had a lovely, lovely meal and would definitely return in the future as the food is fabulous!!! I would definitely have given five stars but for the 3 niggles of mine. Thank you for a great experience ;-)

Our first visit to the Huntsman and boy were we impressed. Service was prompt and efficient, our Sunday roasts were excellent, one of the best I've ever had. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What a fabulous Sunday roast lunch! Reasonably priced generous portions, home cooked, delicious & all piping hot too. Puddings we're amazing too! One of the best roasts I've had. Thanks Gail & Sophie, we'll be back again Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
