Burrata and capriccio are great! Had the chateaubriand texture and taste are just right and match! PS you ll be just amused by your server and dinning time there. Look how curious I was, haha. Bon appétit!

Between its prime location in LKF, its lavishly Westernized Halloween decorations, and penguin suit waiters, IQ Bar was flashing $$$ all over. But we were tired travelers and we just wanted a drink and the HAPPY HOUR 4-9 sign was very enticing I guess coming from Canada, I'm just not used to the presence of cigarette smoke wafting all around me in a dining establishment. But hey that's life and you do as the locals do. I sucked it up and was rewarded by something completely unexpected. What made this bar stand out from the 100s of bars in HK's party central? Strangely, it was their foie gras appetizer, which turned out to be the best I have ever tasted in my life. It was a happy accident really. We came in for the happy hour special and was promptly told by our friendly and professional waiter that it was around HKD $130 for a glass of wine and an appetizer off their list. Fantastic! I was expecting fries or chicken wings but there was so much more than that. Carpaccio, smoked beef tartar, marinated scallop, vodka cured salmon...all presented beautifully and without a doubt, deliciously (though I never got to try these items). Anytime foie gras is on the menu, I gravitate towards it but given the price, I was expecting smears of goose liver pate on toast or something. What arrived were two heavy chunks of solid fatty liver, deep fried in thin wonton-like wrappers and served with a chopped strawberry mixture that was sweet, citrusy, and perfect with the decadent foie. Oof, I was stunned. Wash that down with some very decent white wine and a sweet and sparkly cocktail with a naughty name (Porn Star Martini), and we were in for a treat. Goes to show the best things in life often appear when you least expect it. Now how do I afford a plane ticket back to eat here again? (103/100) - 2016
